Chiyogami (Yuzen) Papers
Chiyogami Japanese paper, commonly referred to as 'Yuzen' in the western world, is
by far our most popular line of paper. These repeat pattern papers are wonderful for
papercraft, collage, bookbinding, lampshades, origami, wrapping, framing as art,
invitations and stationery. All our Chiyogami papers are individually silk screened
with as many colours as feature in the particular pattern (in most cases five or six
colours) onto a base paper made from a combination of kozo and sulphite. Below is
a stage by stage example of pattern 503C.

Watch out for imitations. Authentic japanese chiyogami papers feel thicker, with a higher kozo content making a more durable paper, and use high quality ink, reflected in the intensity of colour and the lightfastness. 'Fake chiyohami papers' are cheaper to buy because they are mechanically printed in large volumes.
Chiyogami Japanese paper is sold by the full sheet, half sheet and A4 sheet. Smaller
pieces can be purchased in our pot luck and assorted packs. View below, or SHOP NOW for current patterns and availability.
